Pricing, Costs, and Fees for Memorials
At Marry Monuments, we want to be clear about what goes into the cost of a memorial. Prices can vary from company to company, but we break it down into a few simple areas:
Size, style, and material of the memorial
Optional extras like pictures, vases, or engraved designs
Foundation and installation fees, as well as sales tax
The first things that affect the price are the size and style of the memorial. For example, smaller flat markers are usually cheaper than larger upright monuments. Custom shapes or special designs take more time and effort, so they cost more. Generally, the more work it takes to make the memorial, the higher the price will be.
Material is also important. We use granite and marble, which come from quarries around the world. Granite, in particular, is very strong and will last for many generations. The price of granite can change depending on how easy it is to get, but all of the granite we use is high-quality and will last for lifetimes.
Here’s what’s included in the price of your memorial at Marry Monuments:
Delivery and installation at the cemetery by our trained staff
The basic design and artwork for the memorial
Up to 40 letters on a single marker or 60 letters on a double marker
Shape carving for upright monuments
Standard finished surfaces (smooth or polished, depending on style)
We also offer extra items if you want to add something special to the memorial:
Extra polished finishes (like polishing the top or edges of a monument)
Adding a veteran’s plaque
Adding a vase for flowers
Extra engraving on the back of the memorial
Custom artwork or designs
Hand or laser etching (available on black granite only)
Special deep carving for more detailed designs
Most cemeteries require a foundation under the memorial to keep it steady and prevent it from sinking or shifting over time. Some cemeteries charge an extra fee for the foundation or the installation. We will help you with these costs and make sure the cemetery gets the correct payment for setting the memorial.
In our full service, we’ll usually list these foundation and setting fees separately on your order. We will also work with the cemetery to make sure everything is taken care of for you.
If you choose a bronze marker (usually a flat plaque), the price is influenced by:
The size of the marker
If you want a vase included
The number of emblems or symbols (for example, if you want more than two symbols, there may be an extra charge)
Whether the marker is mounted on a granite base or not
